Two weeks ago, a photojournalist from Muzaffarnagar, India, captured the moment Ankit slept with Danny’s uncle outside a shop.
The photo was posted on social media and immediately touched the hearts of many people. The authorities also intervened to locate the child’s whereabouts.
It wasn’t until last Monday that Ankit was found. Ankit is currently under the care of Muzaffarnagar district police.
According to the owner of the tea shop where Ankit worked, the dog never left the boy. “The dog will sit in the corner while the child works here.
Ankit is very proud and would never accept anything for free, not even milk for his dog,” this person said.
Ankit will be raised by an acquaintance until he meets his family.
According to Muzaffarnagar police chief Abhishek Yadav, the police are trying to find Ankit’s relatives. Ankit’s photograph was sent to many police stations in neighboring districts.
Previously, when a local photographer posted the photo on Twitter, many people called on authorities to help the boy.
And in the end, the boy had a happy ending. An acquaintance of Ankit, whom he called “Bi”, adopted him.
Ankit will be educated in a private school until his family is found. The school also agreed to waive tuition after learning of the boy’s unfortunate situation.
